Kiciwapa Cree Nation is pleased to announce the signing of an Exploration Agreement with T2 Metals as of June 2023.

The Agreement establishes a cooperative and collaborative partnership for the proposed exploration by T2 Metals of the copper-zinc-gold project. It outlines the roles and responsibilities of both parties in advancing exploration activities at Serridon, located within the Traditional and Ancestral Territory. This partnership is built on mutual respect and a shared commitment to sustainable development and community engagement.

A key component of the agreement is the drilling program, which is designed to provide significant benefits to the local community. These include employment opportunities, skills development through training programs, and financial contributions that foster economic growth. To further ensure meaningful community involvement, the agreement establishes a reserve fund. A designated percentage of the exploration expenditure will be allocated to this fund, which will be used to support and implement community-driven projects. These initiatives may include infrastructure improvements, educational programs, and cultural preservation efforts, all aimed at enhancing the well-being and prosperity of the region.
By prioritizing community inclusion and shared benefits, the agreement reflects a commitment to responsible exploration practices while respecting the cultural and environmental significance of the Traditional and Ancestral Territory.
